up to date

...this blog isn't, even for me. But here's a recap of the last couple of months:

Nothing, really. I've moved from Pets & Nature to Nostalgia/collectibles over there. A d r i 's 20th birthday, and C i n d y and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary as well as 10th "meeting" anniversary. Simba continues to be a creep.

Most importantly, a couple of weeks' ago my grandfather was rushed to the hospital, and a couple of days later we were told he probably wouldn't make it through the night and to come and say our goodbyes. He made it through the night, and is doing much better, though he has to convalesce for about a month at the same extended-care facility he convalesced at last year. I doubt this will fix that whole frog thing, however (see previous post).

I just mowed the lawn.

There. We're all caught up.

Monday Simba Blog #4

Our story continues.

"Are you talking to me?!"

"Are you talking to me?"

"Huh? Because it sure looks like you're talking to me!!"

"Who are you talking to? You talking to ME?!?!"

Monday Simba Blog #3

In our third installment:

simba at door

"Yes, I know I've been out five times today already. What's your point?"

mumbles some cat-expletive under his cat-breath

"Well? I have butterflies to chase and dirt to lie in. What's the hold up?"

Monday Simba Blog #2

Simba does Monday blogging:

"What was I thinking?! Why did I eat half my bowl of food before I ran around the coffee table seven times trying to catch that animal that looks remarkably like my tail?"

Sigh.

"Why?"

yawn.

"I wonder if 24 is a rerun tonight... and why haven't they killed off Kim yet?"

Monday Simba Blog #1

As a new feature, every Monday will be Simba Blog day, wherein the beloved house cat makes a personal blog entry.

Here's today's:

"Go away.

Maybe if I curl up into a little ball like this they'll mistake me for a ball of lint. "

(waiting)

"Are they still here? Let me take a peek."

(peeks)

"Dammit. Okay, plan B. Must think of a plan B."
