The Ring

With this ring I always have part of her with me, but I was hoping that her presence would manifest herself stronger and with more reality, that I'd actually feel her with me when I wore this in a physical sense (she's always with me emotionally.)

I guess despite my best efforts I can't trick my brain into believing that a physical noncorporeal object can somehow embody a part of her enough to alleviate the pain of her actual absence.

Evidently I'm not that dumb. But I wish I were.

Still, I love this ring, and even got a second one as a backup just in case anything happened to it. I was not willing to take a chance with that level of potential devastation.
