Movie Mistakes That Ruin Suspension of Belief and Are Otherwise Just Annoying
While we were watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory last night, I noticed a flaw in the story that ruined it for me. Charlie's grandfather was an employee of the chocolate factory, and thus Charlie wouldn't be eligible for the contest. As you know, such contests are always not available in Guam and to employees and their family, as well as being void where prohibited.
Plus, there' s no purchase necessary, so why did he have to scrounge for money to buy a bar in the first place?

How about Lois Lane putting her fax in the machine upside down?
Well, for one thing, this brings up a philosophical conundrum in the "if a tree falls in the forest and no one is there does it make a sound?" vein, to whit:
"At what point is the piece of paper being fed into a fax machine really a fax and not simply 'a piece of paper'"?
I say it's not a "fax" until it's received at the other end. Prior to that, it's simply "a document".
Also, it's an old lawyer trick to feed a potential fax (see, such verbage evades the entire philosophical question above) upside down. They thus have a receipt showing a fax was sent, yet the recipient gets nothing. In short, this is a stalling technique... perhaps this is what Lois Lane was doing?
